Orchids - Our Mhello Studio Cultivation Language

Symbolic of beauty and perfection, patience and elegance and an intricate balance of shape, colour and composition. It’s no wonder these blooms are often featured in beautiful spaces and very common in spaces created with fengshui in mind. This orchid ‘table’ sits in a light filled part of my living room. There is just the right humidity and light with hours of shade to cultivate these stems patiently each flowering season. With 7 orchids in total, there are usually between 2 and 4 in bloom at any one time. And what i’ve come to know is patience is key to their cultivation of stems each season. They need love and attention, food (aka water) and light, and a patient watchful eye. When a new stem appears, it sometimes takes months for it to grow and bear blooms, and during those months I pay daily attention to them. It’s very symbolic of how I run mhello studio. Each project and client we work with comes into our fold. Some arrive in full bloom, wanting to continue to grow and multiply in our mhello environment, others have cut stems needing re-cultivating and some arrive on deaths door. With each of these scenarios we have our special formula and love watching transformation, growth and blooming. And if you know anything about orchids you know they are never in perfect bloom forever, they do however remain stable if well looked after and patiently tended too daily (even if its just some words of encouragement), but when they bloom they do in long stages and they also multiply. So each season they come from a more solid often larger base. It’s the perfect analogy for business, and how to nurture businesses and their stability, beauty and ability to continue to bear fruit (aka blooms).

‘they do however remain stable if well-looked after and patiently tended too daily’.
